The grand opening of the University was held on November 9, 1918. More than 2000 students were enrolled in the first course of the University. Two faculties (natural and historical-philological) began their first academic year. Due to the great need for medical personnel and the desire of young people to master the profession of a doctor by the decision of the University Council, a reception was started in this specialty. In the 1918-1919 school year, future physicians studied with students of the natural faculty.
