Transport and telecommunication institute
The Transport and Telecommunication Institute (lat. Transporta un sakaru institūts – TSI) is a modern university with almost a century of history. TSI is the university’s successor to the legendary RCAII (Riga Red Banner Institute of Civil Aviation Engineers) and RAU (Riga Aviation Institute).
In its present form, TSI was founded in 1999. Today TSI is the only private technical university of university type in Latvia where you can receive higher education in Russian, Latvian and English. The main building of the institute is located in the capital of Latvia, Riga .
Since 2003, the Latgalian branch of TTI has been successfully operating in the second largest city of Latvia, Daugavpils .
The Institute offers training programs in the following areas: transport and logistics, computer science, electronics and telecommunications, economics and management, air transport. In June 2013, all TSI areas of study were accredited for a maximum period of six years.
In TSI, you can get higher professional education of the first and second level, bachelor’s and master’s degrees, prepare and defend a doctoral thesis.
TSI conducts a multi-faceted research work. According to the results of expert evaluation, the Institute of Transport and Communication, the only one among private universities, is included in the list of leading scientific institutions operating in Latvia . And also, according to the results of the 2014 “Latvijas Avīze” rating, the Institute of Transport and Communications achieved excellent results , taking the honorable 2nd place among private universities in Latvia!
The total number of graduates of the institute is more than 7,500.
The current number of students is about 3,000.
Students from Latvia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, India, Great Britain and other countries study at TSI. The most popular among foreign students areas of study: logistics, information technology, aviation.
